Thiagarajar College was started on 07.07.49 by Kalaithanthai Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar with the motto "to produce generation of alumni,
noted for knowledge and culture, for skill and efficiency, for discipline and character, for loyal service of God and country".
The list of illustrious alumni include Kalaiannaiar Dr. Mrs. Radha Thiagarajan, Former Emeritus President, Thiagarajar College, Madurai,
Dr. P. Namperumalsamy, the founding member of the Aravind Eye Care System, Madurai, Social activist Man of the Millennium Palam Kalyanasundaram,
Chennai, and Karumuttu T. Kannan, President, Thiagarajar College and numerous others who are working in various fields with different
responsibilities like scientists, doctors, social workers, politicians, software professionals, businessmen, Cinema directors, actors etc.
in India and abroad.
The contribution of alumni of the college for its present name and fame is noteworthy. The role of alumni of a college for its further
development and for the benefit of its current students is highly significant. Keeping this in mind TC Alumni association has been functioning to
bring all its alumni under its roof. Presently, over 6000 alumni have registered as life members of TC alumni association. We invite all alumni to
join as the life members of TC Alumni association. Let us join together and extend our helping hands to the needy people of the society in
particular the present students of our alma mater.
